WHAT 'SIN' HAS THE CHURCH COMMITTED?- CAN asks Federal Govt.

The continuous closure of places of worship, especially the church in Nigeria as a result of corona virus has become worrisome to Christian leaders in the country. Several of them are not happy. Many can not really understand the rationale behind the indefinite shutdown when other sectors of human engagements have been lifted.
One of these leaders who is not finding things funny is the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Samson Ayokunle.

He said the continued lockdown order on the places of worship was no longer acceptable and justifiable and therefore ask for the immediate reopening.

A statement on Tuesday by his spokesman, Bayo Oladeji, said that despite the directive from Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, states like Lagos and Ogun were yet to allow worship places reopen.

“What sin have the places of worship committed?”, Rev. Ayokunle quips

The body recalled that when corona virus broke out, it agreed with the government on the need to close down the places of worship, schools and others.
